HBC Football
The event started at 7:50am, well for Miss Mitchell 7:30am. As we got in our car lines Miss Mitchell called the roll. It took about 5-10 minutes for everyone to get there. It seemed like only seconds though!
Once everyone had arrived we were set to hit the road and play some football! The drive to Stanmore Bay Park was great, thanks to our lovely new highway. As soon as the gazebo arrived, it shot up with the great help of the parents that were kind enough to attend the event. As everyone sat down on the tarp under the gazebo, Miss Mitchell told us which teams we would be playing against and what time.
Our teams were named: WW Allstars, WW Strikers, WW Knights and WW Superstars.
The Knights were last to start their first game. I don ’t think they noticed though! The teams were off to a roaring start! The games were 10 minutes each way. After the teams completed their games they headed straight back to our gazebo to have a little snack before their next game. Some teams played five games and some six. One team got into the semi finals and tied at the end so went onto a penalty shoot-out. Unfortunately they didn ’t get into the final, but they tried their hardest and that’ s what matters.
We had an enjoyable trip back and returned to school just before 3pm, about 15 minutes earlier than expected. This trip wouldn't have been possible without our parent helpers, thank you.
