Welcome to Warkworth Primary School

Warkworth School is an exciting, happy place to learn, to teach and to work.
Located in the heart of the Northern Rodney district Warkworth School is a large (500+ pupils), State contributing Primary School (Years 1-6). The community is a mixture of semi-rural and rural families. 75% of our families are transported daily to school by bus.
The Ministry of Education classifies the school as a decile 8 school. The main economic base of the families is still rural but a growing trend for people to live here and work in the city of Auckland. The school Board of Trustees and parent community work in a strong partnership to provide a positive and safe learning environment for every child. The community has high educational expectations for children.
Warkworth School is one of a handful of schools on a split site in New Zealand. The Junior Area (Years 1-3) and the Senior Area (Years 4-6) are separated by Hill St. There are two libraries, two playgrounds, two staff rooms and two school halls. We employ approximately 50 staff including a RTLB (Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour), an ESOL (English Second Language), Reading Recovery and Specialist Music teachers.  We also offer an Out of School Care (OSCAR) Programme consisting of Before and After School Care and Holiday Programmes.
